Michael Alldis will have to wait another month before getting the chance to reclaim his British super-bantamweight crown.
The Crawley fighter was due to meet Brian Carr in his home town on January 28 with the British title and Carr's Commonwealth crown at stake.
But the show has been postponed after Scotsman Carr was struck down with flu.
A spokesman for promoters Matchroom said: "It has been postponed for three or four weeks but we will try to rearrange it quickly.
"It is only flu, so it will probably now be towards the end of February."
The postponement is another blow to Alldis who is chomping at the bit after losing his British title in controversial circumstances to Patrick Mullings at Wembley last July.
Mullings was subsequently stripped of the crown after taking drugs but the British Boxing Board of Control refused to reinstate Alldis, making the title vacant instead.
For the past few weeks Alldis has been working hard in London with his new trainer, former British super-middleweight champion James Cook.
When it does take place, the Crawley show will feature other local fighters, possibly including Alan Gilbert and Lee Minter.
Hove super-featherweight Paul Halpin hopes to start his comeback in March with the first of three fights in as many months.
