What excellent news that farmers in East Sussex plan to market locally produced meat (The Argus, January 8).
Not only would this mean a better income for the farmers, who presently get such a raw deal from supermarkets, but also it is more humane for the animals and, perhaps, a step towards more locally produced goods nationwide, cutting down the number of juggernauts pounding the nation's roads.
