I strongly disagree with the sentiments expressed in the article "Blow for stadium hopes" (The Argus, January 9).

A stadium at Village Way North would replace low-quality Sixties and Seventies structures with aesthetically pleasing, high-quality modern buildings.

Noise and light impact would be minimal because of the stadium's design and it would be the most attractive element of an already blighted landscape.

Finally, how can a blow be struck against the planning process when Lewes District Council has no direct influence over the planning application?
