Thank goodness Brighton and Hove City Council is not wasting council taxpayers' money on celebrating the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
If the Queen wants a party, she can pay for it herself.
I suspect the majority of this city's inhabitants would rather see the money spent on real issues affecting real people - such as refuse collection, drug addiction and homelessness - than on street parties for an outmoded and out-of-touch institution.
For once the council has it right.
