Raymond and Lily Langrish celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with an open house day.

The couple toasted 60 years of married life with family and friends, who dropped in at their home in Orchard Close, Southwick.

Mr Langrish, 81, and his 80-year-old wife have lived in Southwick since they married in 1941.

They have three sons and a daughter, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, many of whom took part in the celebrations.

Mrs Langrish said: "We have been together since I was 16 and he was 17. We were courting for four years before we married.

Mr Langrish worked for 38 years at Shoreham power station. Mrs Langrish used to work at Flynn's dyers and cleaners in Portslade.

The couple received a telegram from the Queen.
