A man's body was found by his brother at a flat in Brighton.
Police yesterday launched a full-scale inquiry and were treating the death as suspicious.
However, today their investigation was being scaled down.
Crime is no longer suspected but a post-mortem was being carried out to determine the cause of death.
Police were called to the man's flat in Waverley Crescent, Hollingdean, Brighton, at 11am yesterday.
The area was cordoned off and house-to-house inquiries carried out.
The man was middle-aged but police were not revealing his identity until relatives had been told.
