So Lewes District Council is to oppose the Albion's plans for a new stadium at Falmer.
Excuse me, but this could not be the same town that approved and allowed to be built that monstrosity in the centre of Lewes, right on top of the hill, called County Hall?
This ugly building dominates the view of Lewes from miles around, whereas the Falmer proposal sits in a valley with a design that is pleasing to the eye.
If the design and location of sports facilities are so sensitive, why has there never been an outcry over the grandstands at Goodwood, which dominate the Downland skyline?
Probably because most people find them inoffensive, just as Falmer stadium would be.
