My Nan, Ruby White, from Durrington, was an inspiration to me. She showed me how too laugh, how to cry, how to play and how to love.
My Nan was the best thing that happened to me. I shall miss her smile, her funny ways and her cheeky grin.
I shall miss the things she did, such as when we went shopping and she picked items she wanted and then disappeared when it was time to pay for them.
I shall miss the fun times, such as when we were children and we went to London Zoo and she placed her shopping bag on the floor and an elephant peed into it. And when she chopped the head off a chicken and it ran around for ages.
I shall miss the holidays with her. I shall miss her shouting and laughing with me, the jokes we shared and the secrets.
But, most of all, I shall miss her for what she was - my Nan, my friend and the best person anyone could wish for.
I hope she meets all her friends and family and makes them smile and cry and, one day, I will meet up with her too.
Good night, God bless, Nan.
