In reply to the complaint regarding Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company (Letters, January 4), I would like to inform the writer that Kathy Tugwell (my daughter-in-law) was not "swanning around the town".
She was over here for the funeral of her brother-in-law and was taking a quick trip to Steyning before returning home.
In fact, it was neither her nor I who complained to the bus inspector but an elderly lady and a young student who also had to get to Steyning.
We were surprised and very grateful a car was provided for us and felt the bus company deserved recognition for its service instead of constant complaints about situations over which it often has no control.
I suggest the writer, in future, gets the facts right before complaining.
Well done, Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company, and thank you.
-D Tugwell, Staplefield Drive, Brighton
