Brighton-based amateur football portal Yellow Jersey is being boosted by people's passion for grassroots football.
The web site topped the one million page impression mark for the first time.
Traffic on the site has almost doubled since the end of last season and it has an estimated weekly user base of 20,000.
Managing director and founder Garry Chairman said there was scope for further growth over the coming seasons.
He said: "With more than three million people playing amateur football every week we hope to keep on growing.
"We have currently secured about ten per cent of the audience in the UK so you can see the potential growth in this market."
Strategic director Blair Jarvis said new services should help boost the site's market share.
He said: "A number of initiatives are under way to improve the service, which we will be rolling out throughout the remainder of the season, such as a text messaging (SMS) service which will deliver results and fixtures to our users.
"We have already formed a partnership with ITV Football and have been running the ITV-Grassroots service since the beginning of the season.
"With the forthcoming World Cup we hope to strengthen our position as the leader within this relatively untapped area of the football market."
Yellow Jersey was created in 1999 in consultation with Brighton and Hove Football League fixtures secretary Alan Knight to provide a free results and fixtures service for the 65 teams in the league.
It now caters for 150 leagues in the UK and Ireland across 25 regions, providing results and up-to-date league tables.
