An inquest has been opened into the death of a woman who was strangled.
Charmian Falkner, 33, of Braunton, Devon, was found dead in a bedsit in Dorset Gardens, Brighton, on December 27.
Miss Falkner, a former Brighton Centre security guard, had been visiting friends in the city.
James Flynn, 35, formerly of Dorset Gardens, Brighton, and now of no fixed address, has been charged with killing her between December 21 and 26.
The inquest at Brighton Magistrates Court was adjourned.
