Pet owners have been straining at the leash to get pictures of their animals into a brochure.
More than 100 thought their poseur pooches and camera-loving cats had the potential to be pet supermodels.
Now Timmy the cat, from Hollingbury, Brighton, Louie the border terrier, from Hove, Kenny the cat, from Brighton and Bella the dog, also from Brighton, have been named as winners of a competition run by veterinary clinic company Pet Doctors.
The company, which has clinics in several Sussex towns, wanted to find four pet idols to feature in a new brochure promoting services for pets.
The firm's 60 staff were shown the entries on the company newsletter and invited to cast their votes.
Vet Garrett Turley said: "The quality of the entries was very high indeed.
"It was very difficult for us to choose as every animal had star quality.
"I wish we could have had all 102 in the brochure."
The four winners went along to the Pet Doctors Veterinary Clinic in Brooklyn Road, Seaford, on Saturday to collect goody bag prizes and a voucher of £50 each.
These can be spent at the clinics on treatment or products for pets.
The fab four will feature in the brochure, which will be available from clinics throughout the area, including Brighton, Seaford, Newhaven, Lewes, Felpham and Rustington.
