There is one alternative site to Falmer I have never heard mentioned.
I understand it is jointly owned by the councils of Brighton and Hove, Shoreham and Worthing.
It already has excellent road and rail services that could be easily extended right into the ground.
Its location would encourage crowds from a wide area.
The site presents no environmental or green belt problems.
The space is sufficient to support additional activities.
Where is this utopia? Shoreham Airport.
I can well realise the outcry from some on the loss but believe a study of the option is justified. If rejected, I would be interested in the rationale.
