Anthony R Andrews (Letters, January 17) asks why it is okay for black actresses to play white parts but not for white actors to play black parts.
He cites a BBC production of Cinderella as an example of this. Why does he assume fairy tale characters such as Cinderella and her fairy godmother are meant to be white?
