It is very comforting to see that Alan McCarthy, deputy chief executive of Brighton and Hove City Council, attended a meeting about rubbish collection, held in the Old
Market buildings in Upper Market Street, Hove.
He also has under his control the parking department. Upper Market Street and Brunswick Street East, which it leads into, have resident-only bays, although businesses such as mine try to survive somehow.
Is it just coincidence that, as a business, I collected six parking tickets the very next day after Mr McCarthy had visited the area?
