Billy the goat made a break for freedom when he broke free from his chain and went for a trot in Lancing.
He was picked up by the Worthing and District Animal Rescue Service, which is trying to find him a new home.
Prospective owners may be put off, thinking he's a bit too old and smelly to have as a pet.
But he's on the way to being house-trained and, although he has a white beard, he's really little more than a kid.
