Robbie Collins and Warren Bagnall have been told to score the goals which can help take Crawley into the Conference.

Reds had a ten point lead at the top of the Premier Division before today's home game against Welling and boss Billy Smith has confirmed that, barring injury, the pair will lead his first-choice attack for the rest of the season.

The Crawley boss has no shortage of options up front and Ben Abbey and Steve Restarick will still have a big part to play in the promotion run-in.

But Collins, a target for several league clubs this season, and Bagnall, restored to full fitness after a troublesome groin injury, are his preferred pairing.

Smith said: "Unless they get injured I will be going with Robbie and Warren up front.

"Ben and Steve have a lot to offer. Ben has got a lot more flair and Steve is probably the best goalscorer. But I like Robbie and Warren as my two main strikers because they also stop other teams playing.

"They complement each other well. Robbie is very direct and frightens teams with his pace. Warren sets up a lot of his goals, he is very unselfish and is always looking to improve."

With Crawley still involved in three cup competitions, Abbey and Restarick are not going to be starved of action.

"They are useful players to have on the bench because they are both capable of coming on and getting you a goal," added Smith.

The same applies to Warren Waugh, the player who started the season alongside Bagnall. Waugh cracked a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Rye which will have boosted his confidence.

Smith added: "He got moved out wide and has been a bit unlucky because he lost his place. But these cup games are useful because they give players on the fringes of the team a chance and the longer we can stay in the cups the better, the squad is big enough to cope with the games."

Crawley host Ashford in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday.

Glyn White admits it is do or die time for his St Leonards side.

The next seven games are crucial for Saints as they play five clubs in the bottom half of the table and local rivals Hastings Town.

Saints are in a precarious position, one point and two places off the bottom in the Eastern Division after taking just three points from their last 36.

White has targeted 40 points to stay up which means his side have to nearly double their present tally of 22 to avoid dropping back to County League Division One White said: "The buck stops with me but everyone has said we are playing much better. We were very unlucky to lose 3-1 to Corby. We are just not getting the rub of the green at the moment. I want at least 40 points and I think we can do it.

"When you compare our fixtures to someone like Sittingbourne, it looks better. They still have to play something like nine of the top ten sides.

"When I took over there were a lot of injuries, that situation is getting better now."

White is due to talk to former Hastings Town man Paul Hobbs and he is hoping to lure ex-Saint Tony Hogg back to The Firs.

Hogg lost his place at Folkestone Invicta to new signing Lee McRobert from Hastings, but White will have to beat Dr Martens Premier side Welling United to his signature.

McRobert has been released by Hastings after a poor return of goals during his second spell at the club.

The 29-year-old has scored just twice in 19 games.

McRobert was a popular player during his first spell at the club in the 1998-1999 season but the arrival of French ace Landry Zahana-Oni has pushed him down the pecking order.

Town boss George Wakeling said: "It was agreed a week or so ago that he would leave the club. It's just a question of Lee not getting into the side. We shook hands and he's going."

McRobert has joined Dr Martens Premier outfit Folkestone Invicta on a free. Hastings return to the Pilot Field on Tuesday when Eastbourne Borough visit in the third round of the Dr Martens League Cup, kick-off 7.45pm.
