An elderly woman has died after an accident at a spot where residents have been campaigning for a pedestrian crossing.
Emily Frost, 84, of Leicester Road, Lewes, was involved in a collision with a motorcycle as she crossed Nevill Road, Lewes, outside the Victoria Hospital at 4.15pm on January 12.
She was badly injured in the accident and died on Wednesday at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
An inquest is to be held.
Residents, backed by Lewes councillor Anne de Vecchi, have been asking for a crossing at the site.
She said: "We knew something like this would happen if a crossing was not installed."
A spokeswoman for East Sussex County Council said: "The road is too wide for a crossing at that point so we had to advertise that we intended to narrow the road and we have received two objections to that."
