The reconstruction of a serious homophobic attack is being filmed for the TV series Crimewatch tonight.
The assault happened on October 18 last year at about 3.30am at the junction of St James's Street and Lower Rock Gardens, Brighton.
Five men were beaten with a baseball bat and cut with a sharp-bladed weapon in an unprovoked attack.
One victim needed hospital treatment for a head cut and others suffered bruises and slash wounds.
The offender was aged between 18 and 20, white, slim, and about 6ft.
He had short hair which was described as yellow.
He had a long, thin face with green eyes and a long, thin nose. His chin was slightly pointed.
