Bognor needed an own goal to maintain their division one promotion push with a 2-2 draw at Oxford City.
Manager Jack Pearce said: "I was generally pleased with our overall performance and felt we played some good stuff. The only disappointment is that from 85 per cent of possession you only score one goal and need an own goal. The opposition have 15 per cent of play and score two goals."
Rocks went a goal behind in the 27th minute when former Canadian international Simon Vickers chipped Craig Stoner.
Bognor equalised four minutes before the interval when Jamie Howell sent a long corner to the back post and, although a fierce drive from Simon Funnell deflected off the inside of the post, Matt Russell was on hand to slot home from close range.
Rocks went behind again a minute after the interval when they lost the ball in the middle of the park and substitute Steve Arkins beat Craig Stoner with his first touch. Rocks levelled again when Paul Woodhouse steered a Nicky Wyatt cross into his own net in the 62nd minute.
Worthing scored their first goal for 413 minutes in going ahead at home to Tooting and Mitcham, but it was not enough to save them from a seventh consecutive defeat as they went down 2-1.
Andy Alexander gave Rebels an early boost with only his second goal of the season from 20 yards.
Tooting replied with a soft goal from Elliot Onochie 11 minutes later and experienced former Leatherhead striker Nigel Webb clinched victory with a well taken second on 62 minutes.
Horsham's division two match at Wembley was postponed.
