I want to set up as a blacksmith but have nowhere to practise my craft.
I have the training and most of the equipment, including a mobile forge - and more on offer if I can find a secure place - but need space to swing my hammer.
Does anyone have somewhere I can set up as a blacksmith? What the city lacks is a community workshop.
Other large towns and cities have them. Why not Brighton and Hove?
I am a 46-year-old science graduate who has worked as a teacher both here and abroad.
I spent several years as a woodsman and want to develop my metalwork as well as woodworking skills and eventually combine the two.
I studied smithying at college and am looking to it as a means to regain my health after suffering from depression for a number of years.
I came to Brighton when I was 19 to study at Sussex University and have been here, off and on, ever since. I have family here now and want to stay in this area.
I have looked everywhere for a workshop or yard but cannot afford the prices. I am effectively starting from scratch.
I need a benefactor or patron of some sort who will give me the space to get started.
If you have anywhere or know of anyone who may be able to help, please contact me on 07932 974479.
