As I walk through Brighton's Hanover district, I find myself having to keep an eye open for new-style window sashes that open out on to the pavement at quite a dangerous height.

Visually-impaired people, presumably, have to walk well to the outside of the pavement to avoid them and, instead, come up against the wing mirrors of parked cars.

If Building Control or other departments of Brighton and Hove City Council having an interest in this sort of matter insisted windows were replaced in the original sliding sash style, this problem would not arise.

Have any readers hit their heads on these protruding windows? If so, was any compensation forthcoming?
