Sussex Pop Idol hopeful Katie Neiman is backing Will Young to win the hit TV talent show.
The Hove schoolgirl narrowly missed out on making the final ten contestants in the contest.
The teenager was featured on ITV2 as the cameras caught up with some of the show's best competitors.
Katie, 17, who is studying for her A-levels at Brighton and Hove High School, said: "They did a recap to see what we were getting up to.
"I said I was still singing in the corridors at school as a joke and that ended up going out on television."
The final of Pop Idol will be televised on ITV1 on Saturday, with contestants Gareth Gates and Will Young bidding for a lucrative recording contract.
Katie said she would personally like politics graduate Will to win.
She said both were talented but Will would be able to survive in the industry longer.
