Crawley's Michael Alldis has vowed he will beat Scotsman Brian Carr wherever he fights him.
Alldis is bitterly disappointed after being told he will not be fighting for the British and Commonwealth super-bantamweight crowns in his home town.
Instead, the double title contest has been switched to Portsmouth on Monday, March 18 . Alldis will jointly top the bill with Tony Oakey, who is managed by Chris Eubank's former trainer Ronnie Davies.
It is a blow for Alldis who was assured the fight would take place at Crawley Leisure Centre, having been postponed last month as Carr had flu.
Alldis said: "Monday night in Portsmouth isn't exactly my cup of tea but wherever it is, I will beat him. With a new trainer I have a lot to prove and I want to put the past behind me."
Alldis lost the British title last July on a controversial points decision to Patrick Mullings, who was subsequently stripped of the crown after testing positive for drugs.
The Crawley fighter then lost a non-title contest to Frenchman Mahyar Monshipour in Portsmouth last October.
A bad year was capped when the British Boxing Board of Control refused to reinstate Alldis as champion following the Mullings affair.
Since then Alldis has split with his trainer Alex Gower and is now working with former British super-middleweight champion James Cook.
The Portsmouth show will take place at the Mountbatten Centre Oakey, from Portsmouth, will fight Neil Simpson (Coventry) for the British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles.
