Detectives need help in tracing an £8,000 haul of stolen jewellery.
It was taken in a raid on a house in Hangleton Road, Hove.
The burglary was one of a series in the area, which police believe are connected.
Fortunately, the owners had taken photographs of the rings, locket and other jewellery as a precaution.
Detectives hope they will help dealers or anyone else they may have been sold to, to identify them as stolen property.
The most valuable item in the haul was a solid gold ring set with seven sapphires, which is worth £1,000.
It also included a platinum dress ring, an amber and gold ring and a gold wedding ring.
Detective Constable Graham Mepham, of Hove police, said: "Two of these burglaries took place at houses within 800m of each other. The offender got in by breaking a window and then searched the house.
"He was seen in the area about four or five times.
"We are looking at a number of burglaries we believe he could have been responsible for."
He appealed for anyone who has been offered the stolen jewellery to contact him at Hove police station by calling 0845 6070999.
