I agree with Lynn Enever (Letters, February 7) that the members of Friends of Sheepcote have worked hard to improve the valley. It does not stop there, however. We have also contacted councillors to ask if there is a possible site for the bikers. We invited two representatives from Whitehawk's Responsible Drivers Project to a meeting. They work with local biking youngsters and this includes taking them on outings to ride on legal tracks. We also hope to liaise with the community policeman to look at possible solutions, so it cannot be said we are a group of Nimbys.
It would be good to hear what the bikers are doing about arranging for a legal site for their activities. A significant number of these bikers are adults and should be able to argue their case with appropriate bodies to find a solution but may be hoping to wear down others into fighting their cause.
