Defending champs Lewes claimed a place in the semi finals of the Sussex Senior Cup with a 3-1 victory over Wick at a barely playable Dripping Pan.
The Rooks had to wait until four minutes from the interval before taking the lead with an excellent 25 yard effort by Justin Harris.
The vital second goal came four minutes into the second period when Harris flighted a free kick into the box for an unmarked Sam Francis to head past goalkeeper Mark Pannell.
Francis then missed a 73rd minute penalty and Wick gave themselves a lifeline when Lee Webber forced an own goal from Reece Head at the near post.
However, the setback was only temporary as five minutes later substitute Lee Newman scored a third, beating Pannell with a fierce low shot.
Bognor drew 1-1 with Aylesbury United in the top-of-the-table clash in Ryman League division one.
The Rocks took the lead in the 13th minute when Matt Russell finished off a move he started. His cross was initially spooned skywards by Jamie Howell and although Charlie Balfe rifled in the rebound, Russell was on hand to touch the ball home.
Further chances were not taken and Aylesbury levelled when keeper Craig Stoner's attempted clearance hit Roni Joe who gleefully raced on to fire home in the 42nd minute.
The honours were more even in the second period although Bognor were denied a late winner when Russell's header was disallowed for offside.
Manager Jack Pearce said: "My players couldn't give me any more than they did."
In division two, Horsham were held to a 2-2 draw in an eventful match at Wembley.
The Hornets had the best of the first period and took the lead after 14 minutes when Tommy Warrilow's shot came back off the bar and Eddie French stooped to nod in the rebound.
Wembley's Mark McGinty missed a penalty before the match completely changed in first half injury time.
Goalkeeper Ian Chatfield was sent off for bringing down Myron Ramsey. James Bird took over in goal and his first task was to pick the ball out of the net from Ian Bates' free kick.
The second half was delayed when referee Ellis Miller could not continue after pulling a hamstring and a Wembley supporter was pulled out of the crowd to run the line.
John Kirby took over between the posts in the second half and 10-man Horsham surprisingly regained the lead in the 58th minute when French headed home his second of the night but Wembley levelled soon after when Ramsey tapped ine.
In the closing stages, Mark Harewood headed off the line for the hosts and Kirby tipped a shot on to the bar.
In division one of the Rich City County League, Gary Callingham scored the only goal as Burgess Hill won 1-0 at Horsham YMCA to move eight points clear at the top.
In the Combined Counties League, Withdean 2000 beat Cove 3-2 with goals from Roy Pook (two) and Dominic Shepherd, with his 30th of the season.
All other games were postponed.
