TV presenter Zoe Ball confessed to always returning her videos late when she dropped into her local rental store to judge a competition.
She confessed to more than 100 children in Tomorrow's World video store, in Portslade, yesterday: "I'm renowned for not returning videos. I take out about eight at a time and always forget to bring them back.
"I get a phone call saying, 'You know that video you took out for one night, you've had it for months'.
"I've worked up some hefty fines. They try not to let me pay but I always insist."
The TV presenter picked 24 winners from more than 200 entries to the dinosaur colouring competition, based around the film Jurassic Park 3.
She said: "I want to say a big thank-you to everyone who coloured in pictures.
"It has been difficult to choose winners because they are all fantastic. If it makes you feel any better, I've never won anything."
Proud children collected their prizes of Jurassic Park toys before chatting to Zoe, asking for autographs and posing for photographs.
She was particularly taken with Alex Gravaris's green dinosaur outfit. Four-year-old Alex, of Milcote Avenue, Hove, said: "I was really happy when Zoe pointed at me and everyone clapped. Father Christmas gave me the outfit."
Daniel Pullen, 14, of St Leonard's Road, Hove, had his dream come true when he asked Zoe for an autograph and came away with a Valentine's message.
He said: "She wrote 'Happy Valentine's day, love Zoe.' I am going to show all my mates."
The competition, launched two weeks ago, was run in conjunction with Universal Studios, which made the film.
Zoe presented a cheque for £500, including a £300 donation from Universal Studios and £200 raised by the shop from donations, to Melanie Evans of the Rockinghorse appeal for sick children.
There were 12 entries in each age group, one for under-sevens and one for under-12s.
