Well done, Peter Bottomley, MP for Worthing West, for resigning from the Commons standards and privileges committee over its treatment of Elizabeth Filkin, the parliamentary standards commissioner sacked for doing too good a job.
Without such principled gestures, what is to prevent our country from sinking to the sort of venal tyranny suffered by Zimbabwe, to which, I fear, Mr Blair and his corrupt crew will otherwise reduce us?
