Inspired by my father's wartime experiences, I am compiling a collection of stories from the Second World War to be published.
Readers are invited to send their own true stories and anecdotes for consideration.
They should be no more than 3,000 words but they could be just a few lines. I am looking not only for stories of courage, humour, bravery and generosity but also of romance, luck, confusion and coincidence.
Don't worry too much about grammar and literary considerations, just send your story as you remember it.
Submissions may be edited by me but those sending in stories will have approval prior to publication and their names will be included. It is not only the experiences of those involved in active service but any experiences (relating to the conflict) that you can recall from any time during the period.
Please send your stories to me c/o The Argus, 9 Lismore Road, Eastbourne, Sussex BN21 3BA and include your address and contact telephone number.
Alternatively, you can send in your story by email to jsb@pavilion.co.uk
