Crawley boss Billy Smith is hoping some extra firepower will boost his side's faltering title challenge.
Smith has targetted Crystal Palace striker Steve Kabba, 21, and is trying to tie-up a loan deal in time for him to face Newport County at Broadfield Stadium tomorrow.
Reds dropped to third in the premier division, two points behind leaders Tamworth, after a second successive draw against Folkestone in midweek and Smith acknowledges that a lack of goals is the biggest threat to their promotion prospects.
He said: "Our forwards are not doing what they were earlier in the season and they can have no complaints if I go out and get someone else."
Smith should have Ben Abbey available tomorrow after a groin strain and top scorer Danny Carroll, unavailable for the last two games, also returns along with Nigel Brake.
