Beauty queen Nneka Ikedife did not win when she represented Brighton at the Miss Great Britain contest.
But she will be far prouder of the bravery certificate she is to receive at Lewes Crown Court. Nneka was quick to act when a friend was held at knife-point after a night out in the Lanes.
When the woman attacker pulled out a knife, Nneka screamed at the top of her voice so she would stop.
Then she called the police on her mobile and chased the attacker through the Lanes, pointing her out to police as they arrived.
The woman has now been sent to prison for three years for attempted robbery and possessing an offensive weapon.
Nneka did just the right thing. She prevented her friend from being attacked while putting herself at little risk.
Then she remained cool while keeping on the trail of the woman for long enough to see her arrested.
