Super-bantamweight Michael Alldis will be making his double title bid in Crawley after all.
The Crawley fighter was told yesterday his British and Commonwealth title showdown with Scotsman Brian Carr has been switched back to his home town.
The show was due to take place in Crawley in January but was called off as Carr had flu.
It was subsequently switched to Portsmouth but has now been rearranged to take place at Crawley Leisure Centre on Monday March 18.
This latest change comes after Tony Oakey, the Ronnie Davies-trained light-heavyweight, pulled out of his top-of-the-bill showdown with British champion Neil Simpson at Portsmouth to challenge Estonian Andrei Kaersten for the vacant WBU title this Saturday at the York Hall.
Oakey was to be the main draw in his home town but with his withdrawal, it makes no sense for the popular Alldis to top the bill away from Crawley.
Alldis will now top the bill for this 8st 10lb clash when the vacant British title will be up for grabs along with Carr's Commonwealth crown.
Alldis said: "It has been changing back and forth. It won't be until I get to the venue on the night that I will believe it is in Crawley.
"Obviously it is a big title fight for me. My training is going well and when I get in that ring I will be 100 per cent focussed and ready. I will beat him anywhere but being in Crawley with home support helps me."
