A mother whose daughter has been missing for a week fears she is being held against her will.

Hairdresser Donna Duplock, 18, has not been seen since she kissed her mother goodbye on February 19, saying she was going to a nightclub.

Her mother, Linda, said she failed to return to the family's home in Shoreham and did not turn up for work the next day.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who has seen Donna to contact them immediately.

Mrs Duplock said her fears were heightened after she and her 21-year-old son Wayne received two messages after Donna went missing.

The first was a text message to Mrs Duplock's mobile phone reading: "You won't see your daughter again now that I have got her."

It had been sent from Donna's mobile phone, which had been switched off until then.

Both Mrs Duplock and her son tried three times to ring the mobile but each time it was answered and cut off without anyone speaking.

Mrs Duplock said: "My son later received a call and someone said, 'Wayne, please help me' before the line went dead.

"I am very worried Donna has been abducted and is being held by someone because it is not like her to not phone us to let us know where she is."

On the day she disappeared, Donna, who is 5ft 2in tall, had tattoos of a dolphin and a butterfly done on her chest.

She later met her mother and was wearing a short, summer top to show off the designs.

Mrs Duplock said she and Donna had spent the night playing pool at pubs in Shoreham, including the Ferry Inn, the Crown and Anchor and the Bridge.

They went back to the Ferry, where Donna asked her mother if she would go with her to a nightclub called The Revenge.

Mrs Duplock said: "The only Revenge I know is the one in Brighton. At first I did not want to go and then changed my mind.

"But when I said I would go with her, Donna said it was all right and she would go on her own.

"We left the Ferry at about 11.10pm and walked up to the taxi rank at the station.

"As we got there she asked me for a kiss, which was very unusual. I kissed her and she asked me for another kiss so I kissed her again.

"That was the last thing she said to me before I got into the taxi."

Donna, who has dyed, reddish hair and is described as plump, left Boundstone Community College in Lancing when she was 16.

She trained as a hairdresser at Solitaire Hair Fashions in Manor Road, Worthing, where she was working last week.

Detective Inspector Graham Pratt, of Hove police, said: "We are aware of the text and phone messages received by the family.

"At the moment there is nothing to suggest something untoward has happened to Donna.

"We are treating her as a missing person and would like to hear from friends or anyone else who has seen her."
