Like thousands of other Albion fans, I am pleased Bill Archer is at long last leaving the club.
Mr Archer did put money into the club but I do not think the money was spent wisely. The selling of the Goldstone ground was the final straw, with no new home to go to.
The club's debts should, and could, have been solved in other ways.
The Albion were not the only club to have debts at the time. Those other clubs did not sell their grounds to solve these problems.
Money invested in football clubs is invested for the love of the game and not for financial reward.
Dick Knight is a fine example of this, as a lifelong fan of the club.
One hopes, with Mr Archer leaving, Falmer will now provide a great new future for the Albion and past problems can be put way behind them.
