There's global warming, climate change, submerging English towns.
There's huge great lakes where, recently, there used to be the Downs.
The great polluters flourish as our planet sadly cries.
We're permanently sodden under sullen leaden skies.
The odds are stacked against us, it's a hard battle indeed.
A struggle for the future against vested corporate greed.
But here in Brighton what have Greens and FOE to say?
A lot - about a muddy field beside a motorway.
The Falmer battle's joined and they are on the other side;
They stand against the folk who gave the Albion back their pride;
A Countryside Alliance with the Nimbys of the Right.
You call yourselves the radicals? Well, I say: Shame on you.
The real grass-roots campaigners are the folk in white and blue.
Sod off and join the Monday Club, 'cos all your friends are there.
