Caroline Pattenden's article "Man's fight to keep living on the edge" (The Argus, February 20) just about sums up the state our country is in.
I was brought up to believe charity begins at home but it appears the National Trust, Wealden District Council and the Planning Inspectorate are totally devoid of sympathy when it comes to preserving someone's home and its historic connection with the Coastguard Service.
They are not alone. I wonder how many of the people involved in the decision not to proceed have ever been in danger of losing their homes?
A campaign is needed in support of Richard Worsell and the occupants of the other cottages to back up the petition signed by 60,000 people to build the revetement.
