The bird illustrated in the community web information column in The Argus Business (February 5) belongs to Huxley's Experience, the bird of prey centre near Horsham, and not to the Southern Counties Raptor Club, as does all the collection of raptors seen there.

Members of the public are invited to sponsor various birds, providing some very welcome aid, and the Raptor Club kindly provides help in this way by sponsoring the black vulture.

The flying displays, hawking days and flying lessons are run by Stephanie and Julian Ford, the proprietors of Huxley's, at their grounds in Horsham, as well as insight days, educational visits and corporate entertainment.

Julian is also always willing to allow members of clubs such as the Southern Counties Raptor Club, the Sussex Downs Falconry Club and the British Hawking Association to practise their skills at the centre and give them the benefit of his expertise.

The public can visit Huxley's Experience on any day except Tuesdays from 11am to 5pm and gain hands-on experience at noon and 2pm, so gaining a real insight into these special birds close up.

Julian also has a web site at sussexflyingfalcons.co.uk
