I was interested to read (February 19) that the old Portslade Police Station is to be converted into homes.
My Dad, John (Jack) Connor, retired in 1938 from the Met and we came to live in Portslade in March 1939.
When the Second World War broke out, he was called up into the first Police War Reserves and stationed at St Andrews Road, Portslade.
He served during the war and for several years after, until the station was closed.
