It is good to see action being taken against graffiti artists and car dumpers in Brighton and Hove - not before time.

However, there is another form of vandalism that needs looking into - the "me and my car" brigade who are tearing up the grass verges with their parking habits.

Have a stroll in Braybon Avenue and Woodbourne Avenue to see the damage they have caused.

When we have visitors, we are constantly cleaning mud off our carpets.

There are signs in the area stating "No horses or vehicles" on the verges but obviously three-letter words are beyond these people's vocabulary.

How about a few warnings and then a few fines?
