The bodies of Sussex cricketer Umer Rashid and the younger brother he tried to save were being flown back to Britain last night.
Umer, 26, sacrificed his life attempting to rescue his 18-year-old brother Burhan when a swimming trip on the paradise island of Grenada turned to tragedy on Monday.
Grenada police said last night that the brothers' bodies had been released and would be taken back to England on a flight leaving the island at 7pm local time.
A spokesman said the police investigation into the deaths had been closed after a post-mortem examination confirmed the brothers had drowned.
Sussex all-rounder Umer was on tour with his team and had travelled with Burhan and his brother's girlfriend, Caprice Ashton, to the picturesque Concord waterfall on a day off.
Miss Ashton told police Burhan had got into difficulties in a pool at the foot of the falls and panicked.
Umer jumped in to help him but the brothers disappeared.
Their bodies were later recovered from the bottom of the 20ft pool.
The Sussex side called off the rest of its pre-season tour of the island and returned to the UK.
