What did the Queen Mother mean to you? Perhaps you met her or were somehow affected by her work.
Whatever you want to say about her, we'd like to hear it. We'll post as many of your tributes online as we can.
Send an email with the subject line Queen Mother to webmaster@theargus.co.uk The death of the Queen Mum is the passing of an era - manners/grace etc, which I think will never return. Her kind of discipline and morals are now seldom found. - Anne Shuttleworth
I am 35 years old and did not experience the war times that my parents did but that does not change the fact that I think all of us young or old knew and loved the Queen Mother.
One person wrote that she was the Gran of the nation, I think they hit the nail on the head right there with that one.
She reminded me very much of my own Gran - the same white hair and as a kid I always remembered her as being very soft and colourful looking all the time.
My parents remember the war times and one fact in particular about the Queen Mother that they told me about as a child and reminded me again when we heard the news was that during the blitz she never left London - WOW.
My daughter is 4yrs old and when we heard the news about the Queen Mum my daughter asked who she was.
I explained and will make sure that as she grows up I will teach her about her heritage, just like we were taught in school as kids. Good night and God Bless. - Sandra Ebrahimi
