Komedia in the heart of the North Laine area in Brighton is one of the city's success stories.
From modest beginnings, the theatre has taken over a scruffy Sixties building which was once a supermarket and transformed it into a place where people want to go.
Now there are plans to expand the theatre and link it into the new Jubilee Street development which will be built shortly on the other side of Regent Street.
The expansion will provide more space for performance and will employ more people. It will make the building look more attractive and give it a better layout.
Komedia has helped launch the careers of many comedy stars who are household names. It has also never been afraid to put on experimental theatre.
The new extension, if it gets planning approval and full financial backing, will make it even bigger and better.
