I don't know what all the fuss is about regarding the possible modern buildings on the seafront by the West Pier.
Already, the esplanade is a vast, concrete expanse with no beauty whatsoever. Adjacent monstrosities such as the grey Hilton Hotel block and
the cheap-looking Alfresco restaurant somehow got council approval so what difference will two more ugly buildings make?
A dream option would be to have these ugly buildings demolished, forbid new ones and get the esplanade tree lined from one end of Brighton to the other. Now that would improve Brighton seafront.
