An ostrich which escaped from a farm with two other birds was found last night after almost two days on the run.
The 4st female, nicknamed Olli, was discovered by a hedge near her home, just outside Horsham.
Police spokesman Phil Woolf said: "It's a real relief for the owner.
"Olli was surprisingly calm when she was found."
The three birds broke free from their compound on Thursday, making their way to the Five Oaks area of the A29 and A264.
One of the flightless birds was hit by a van while another became so distressed it had to be put down. But Olli made off and evaded capture until her owner found him.
Mr Woolf said: "The farmer didn't need any help restraining her. It's good Olli is back where she belongs."
