I am disgusted at the advice Rebecca Gray gave (The Argus, April 25) to the mother of a child who was given an unwanted doll's house by her grandparents and sold it, to the displeasure of the givers.
Did the grandparents ask the child what it wanted before purchasing a costly gift? No, they did not.
People give presents for their own often selfish reasons, their own hidden agenda. They expect the recipient to be grateful even if it is not wanted.
In this case, I can assume the grandparents want their granddaughter to be a child after their own imagination and desire rather than accept her for the person she really is.
