Worthing manager Barry Lloyd missed his side's final-day 2-0 division one victory over promoted Aylesbury.
He left the ground before kick-off after being troubled by a hernia problem which required an operation.
The former Albion boss missed Rebels' fourth win in five games as Gavin Geddes rediscovered his goalscoring touch.
Ex-Rebels managerSammy Donnelly was among the crowd of 502, which included 200 Aylesbury fans, as Geddes scored twice after the break.
Former Seagull Geddes put Worthing in front on the hour with a far post header following a Wesley Lopez cross.
Substitute Gavin Jones set him up for his second 15 minutes later when his left foot shot from the edge of the area beat keeper Adam Wheeler.
Geddes twice had shots saved by Wheeler early in the second half and the goalkeeper foiled him again five minutes from time.
Wheeler then denied Worthing stalwart Mark Burt who had a late opportunity to cap what could have been his last league game.
