A blind woman has returned to Sussex after helping drive a team of husky sled dogs north of the Arctic Circle.
Lisa Dainton, 31, of Leaf Road, Eastbourne, and friend Maggie Healy, 52, spent four days above the Arctic Circle with an experienced Swedish husky dog leader.
Mrs Dainton, a studio recordist for National Talking Newspapers in Heathfield, said: "It was splendid. The weather was beautifully sunny even though it was minus six."
She had registered her attempt to be the first blind person to single-handedly lead a team of sled dogs above the Arctic Circle with Guinness World Records.
However, as she had to be helped by an instructor the attempt did not register.
Mrs Dainton said: "It was still a great achievement but we knew as soon as we got there the record wasn't going to happen."
