A mother-to-be is hoping her baby will just hold on another 24 hours - so she can win a bet worth £1,000.

As we reported in March, Donna Munn, from Thornhill Rise, Mile Oak, wants her baby to be the fourth member of her family, including herself, to share the same birthday, June 9.

However, the baby is due today and not Sunday, so she is desperately trying to avoid going into labour until then.

If she is successful, she stands to win her bet with William Hill - as well as create a four-generation dynasty of June 9 birthdays.

She placed the £50 bet in February with the bookies at odds of 20/1, which means she would make £1,000.

William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said: "Donna is trying to create a four-generation dynasty of June 9 birthdays within her family and we are happy to give her the chance to bet that she would do it."

Donna's mother and niece were also born on June 9, he said.
