The recovery in the manufacturing sector remained on track as official figures revealed output prices held steady last month.
The Office for National Statistics said output prices on all manufactured goods rose by 0.3 per cent last month and 0.1 per cent over the year.
The figure inched up after tobacco duty rises in the Budget and an increase in the prices of other manufactured goods.
Stripping out food, beverages, tobacco and petrol and taking seasonal traits into account, the increase has now held steady at 0.2 per cent for two months.
